Lender FAQs

What is loan servicing?

Loan servicing is the administration of a loan after it is made: receiving and recording payments, maintaining account records, sending statements and notices, communicating with borrowers, tracking maturities and delinquencies, and reporting to the lender. The servicer administers the loan on the lender's behalf — it does not own the loan or change its terms.

What types of lenders can work with RCM Servicing?

RCM Servicing works with private lenders, real estate lenders, mortgage companies, debt funds, portfolio investors, loan purchasers, and financial institutions. Whether an engagement is a good fit depends on the loan types, jurisdictions, and servicing scope involved — the best way to find out is a short conversation about your portfolio.

Can RCM Servicing onboard an existing loan portfolio?

Yes. Existing portfolios — whether self-serviced or transferred from another servicer — can be boarded through a structured intake process. Loan data and documents are collected, each loan is set up on our records, and key terms and balances are validated before ongoing administration begins.

What information is needed to begin onboarding?

Typically: a loan schedule, promissory notes and security instruments, borrower contact information, payment histories, amortization schedules, any modification history, and insurance or escrow information where applicable. The exact list depends on loan type and the agreed servicing scope, and we walk through it together during the servicing scope review.

What servicing reports may be available?

Depending on the servicing agreement, reporting may include portfolio summaries, loan-level activity reports, payment and remittance reports, delinquency reports, maturity tracking, and exception reporting. Reporting formats and cadence can be discussed to fit how you monitor your portfolio.

How are borrower communications handled?

Borrowers receive clear, professional communication: welcome communications when servicing begins, periodic statements and account notices, payment reminders, and responsive handling of questions and document requests. Communication practices follow the servicing agreement and applicable requirements.

Can servicing requirements be customized?

Within reason, yes. The servicing agreement defines the scope, and elements like reporting cadence, escalation preferences, and communication instructions can be tailored to the portfolio. Certain services vary by loan type and jurisdiction, so customization is agreed during the scope review.

How are payments recorded?

Payments are posted to the loan record and allocated between principal, interest, and fees according to the loan terms. Each account maintains a full transaction history, and payment activity is included in lender reporting.

How are delinquent accounts handled?

Late payments are tracked, borrowers are contacted through appropriate outreach, and lenders receive status reporting so they always know where past-due accounts stand. Escalation beyond routine outreach follows the servicing agreement. RCM Servicing does not provide legal advice or legal enforcement services; lenders should consult qualified legal counsel for foreclosure, collection, or bankruptcy matters.

How does RCM Servicing protect account information?

Through practices such as access controls, careful handling of account information, secure website communications, organized document practices, vendor oversight, and incident-response planning. Security practices are reviewed and updated as business systems, legal requirements, and operational needs evolve. Our Security page describes this in more detail.

How can a lender request a servicing discussion?

Use the lender inquiry form on the Lenders or Contact page, call (570) 859-5834, or email chris@rcmservicing.com. Share a little about your portfolio and the support you are looking for, and our team will follow up directly.

Borrower FAQs

Why is RCM Servicing contacting me?

Most likely because RCM Servicing administers your loan — either from the start or after a servicing transfer. Our communications relate to the administration of your account: statements, notices, payment matters, and account questions. If you want to confirm that a communication is genuinely from us, call (570) 859-5834.

Does a new servicer change my loan terms?

No. A servicing transfer changes who administers your loan, not the loan itself. Your interest rate, balance, payment schedule, and maturity date are set by your loan documents and are not changed by a transfer.

How do I ask a question about my account?

Call (570) 859-5834, email chris@rcmservicing.com, or use the borrower support form on our Borrowers page. Please include only the last four digits of your loan number — never your full loan number or other sensitive credentials.

How do I request my payment history?

Submit a request through the borrower support form (choose “Statement or Document Request”), or contact us by phone or email. We will verify your identity through appropriate means and provide your payment history.

How do I request a payoff statement?

Submit a payoff request through the borrower support form (choose “Payoff Request”), or contact us by phone or email. Payoff statements are coordinated with the lender and prepared based on your account records, so please allow reasonable time for processing.

How do I update my contact information?

Use the borrower support form (choose “Contact Information Update”), or contact us by phone or email. Keeping your contact information current helps ensure you receive statements and important account notices.

What should I do if I am having difficulty making a payment?

Contact us as early as possible. We can review your account with you, document your situation, and communicate with your lender about it. Options depend on your loan documents and your lender, but the conversation always goes better when it starts early.

How can I verify that a communication is from RCM Servicing?

Contact us using the details published on this website — (570) 859-5834 or chris@rcmservicing.com — rather than the contact details in the message you are unsure about. We will confirm whether the communication came from us.

What information should I avoid sending through the contact form?

Do not send your Social Security number, complete loan number, bank account or card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive financial credentials through the website. If we need to verify your identity, we will do so through appropriate channels.

How quickly will RCM respond?

RCM Servicing reviews inquiries as promptly as reasonably possible during normal business operations. If your matter is time-sensitive — such as an approaching payoff date — please call so we can prioritize appropriately.
